9. The tear bar should not be installed in the printer. If it is, gently lift the

tab on the bar to get it over the protrusion on the door (reverse the

procedureshowninFigure7).Then,pullthebaroutoftheprinter.

NOTE:Whennotinuse,thetearbarmaybestoredontheinside

ofthemediaaccessdoor.RefertoFigure9.Withthelipofthebar

facingtheinsideofthedoor,simplyalignthenotchesofthebar

withthetabsonthedoor.Pressandslidethebartowardthe

door’shingedend.

If you’re using direct thermal media, continue on with step 10.

However, if you’re using thermal transfer media, you must also install

aribboncartridge.Proceedto“LoadingtheRibbon”inthischapter.
